Open Gym news - April 2011

Finally the clocks have changed and we are emerging into Spring – congrats for surviving the winter workouts in the dark – bring on those sunny evenings in the park now!

I have some healthy spring recipes below plus some tech-stuff to help you track your workouts and a list of upcoming running events if you want to set yourself a fitness target this summer.

Here are the top 3 phone apps to help you get fitter:

  • Sports Tracker – this turns your phone into a GPS sports computer, keeping track of everything from calories burned while running to your average cycling speed.
  • Endomondo - you can use this to track your workouts, challenge your friends and analyse your training
  • Adidas MiCoach - this helps you build a regular, achievable fitness plan
